Description

This is a VERY special motorcycle and part of my personal collection.
I NEVER had any plans to sell this bike but situations in life have changed and now it is being offered for the 1st time EVER.
This bike has so much history around here in this area it is hard to type it all out. HARD to put a price on it.
1962 Triumph TR6SS Pre unit "Flattracker".
Bike was owned, aced and maintained by Jim "Birdie" Byers here in southern IN. since 1965.
I feel it is important and vital for the new owner to know just who owned this bike and what it meant to him.
So here is a little history on Jim:

As for the bike:

Birdie raced this bike all over. Springfield, L., uquoin, L., noxville, N., ndianapolis, N. and MANY more places.

Both TT, /2 mi and short track.

A few mile races too but not as much.

All machine work was done by Don's Cycle Shop in Rockport, N.

Frame is a 1958 Triumph "Pre Duplex" frame. (titled off of engine)

Engine is a Hubert "Sonny"Routt825cc Big bore "Twin".

TR6SS lower end with splayed port head (ALL VALVES, UIDES, PRINGS FRESH)

Slick shift 4 speed transmission

Twin Mikuni 34mm's

Mity Max system

Lucas magneto

Conical front wheel from a '70 Tri. New Avon tires (more street friendly).

Lights all work excellent! Actually he would ride it to the races, nhook the headlight to stick the number plate on. Race all night and put the headlight back on to ride home. IF he didn't lay it down or break any bones.

Since I bought it from the family, t has been stored in my collection and started/ridden VERY rarely.

Bike runs and rides EXCELLENT!!!!!

Bike is SUPER FAAAAASSSSSTTT! Pulls like a MULE!

Again, VERY special machine that will be greatly missed but hopefully the new owner will appreciate just how special it is and take it out to show it off.

Clean and clear title in my name for easy transfer. Non numbers matching obviously but bike is titled off of the engine #'s.

That's about it.

Bike is sold "As Is" and "Where Is". No warranty expressed or implied obviously BUT if you are in the area you are welcome and encouraged to come and physically inspect the bike anytime you like.PLEASE ask or request addition pics if you need them. I'm happy to do that anytime. Trying to cover every square inch of a large, ntique bike can be difficult so bare with me.
Nothing to hide here.
Paying:
I prefer cash in hand and a handshake but will take a cashiers' check or bank-to-bank wires and I will work with you from start to finish 100% on shipping the car. However shipping costs are buyers responsibility.INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE WELCOME!NO PAYPAL UNLESS YOU PAY THE FEES! I DO NOT LIKE PAYPAL AND I THINK THEIR FEES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! IF YOU WANT TO USE PAYPAL, OU WILL HAVE TO BE LIABLE FOR THE EXTRA FEES. SORRY...BUT IT'S UNREAL WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR BASICALLY DOING NOTHING.
