So please read the ENTIRE AD and take the time to look at the build photos, EFORE BIDDING OR ASKING QUESTIONS. You will see that this bike was not slapped together for quick re-sale. Rather, t was methodically built over six months for a VERY discerning client, ith tons of useful details. Many upgrades were also made to Triumph's original design to make the new owners life easier. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING bike; VIN# D16028 on the frame and motor. Angry Monkey Motorcycles LLC builds bikes on commission basis only and typically stays booked 18-30 months out, o this is your chance to own one RIGHT NOW! No waiting! This auction is for a 1962 Triumph Bonneville, uilt by Angry Monkey Motorcycles LLC. This bike was completed early 2014 and registered by its new owner on 4/29/2014. This bike starts, uns and rides beautifully. There are tons of upgrades done to make owning and riding this bike a breeze. With modern valves/adjusters, nd a dry, elt-drive primary, ou will not have to spend much time at all keeping this bike alive. That said, ou will need to do a few basic things, ike make sure there is oil in the oil tank, nd transmission, heck the slack in the final drive chain, nd nut-and-bolt the bike (check/tighten all fasteners) a couple times per year. Keep in mind that this is an actual VINTAGE bike. Meaning, t goes and stops like a VINTAGE bike. If you are expecting this bike to accelerate and stop like a modern sport bike you will be disappointed. On the other hand, f you are looking for an investment-quality, ustom, intage, riumph, hat you can enjoy every day, ou are at the right place. While Triumph have set, nd continue to set and hold land speed records, ngry Monkey bikes are built with a balance of performance biased toward being reliable and rideable for the average Joe. As for actual performance, ther bikes we’ve built and dyno’d typically make slightly under 40hp and weigh around 340lbs. One can easily cruise at 65-70mph comfortably. They can have higher cruising speeds with gearing changes, ut that type of change will detract some performance from in-town performance. This bike has just had a full service which includes, ew spark plugs, djust clutch, djust valves, heck/top transmission oil, heck/top tire pressure, et final chain drive slack, il and filter change, olish engine/primary covers, ouch-up tune on carbs, ut-and-bolt entire bike, nd a full detail. “If this bike if so epic, hy is it for sale?” Fair question. This client spends well over 200 days of the year travelling, o he has put very few miles on the bike. The rest of the time of his owning this bike it was kept in secure storage. He feels it is a shame to own this machine only to have it collect dust. Since there is no odometer, here is no definitive way to know how many miles have been put on since completion. BUT, udging from the condition of the bike, would guess it has had only 10-15 tanks of gas run through it. Papers: When this bike was sold to the current client, e received a clean/clear Mississippi title. However, e lives in Alabama, nd the state of Alabama will not issue titles for vehicles over 35 years old. So, his bike will be sold with a Bill of sale, nd the current registration. (E-bay listings do not have this option in the title field). This bike is registered now as it was when it was first registered after arriving in the US; 1962 Triumph Bonneville, o there should be no “special construction” hassles. Please contact your local tax assessor’s office to see what they require for a smooth transfer of ownership. If there is anything we can provide that will help, e are willing. The Horse Backstreet Choppers magazine featured this bike in a four-page spread in the August/September issue (#142) The paint on this bike is amazing. It features gold leaf with airbrushed accents, nd hand pulled pin striping. NO pre-made templates were used, ll the art/paint was hand done by Rich (Rzart) and it is spectacular. Pictures truly do not capture what this paint does in person. The Motor: Bottom End: cases were split, ludge trap cleaned, rank was re-ground -.010”. New MAP Steel connecting rods with new -.010” rod bearings were installed. New Mega-Cycle 510-05 cams were used. Cam followers were re-ground to ‘R’ radius. New British crank bearings, nd new cam bushings were installed and bored. Also installed are a new Morgo Hi-Po oil pump, ew billet sump plate, nd new stainless steel hardware all around. Timing cover oil feed boss was welded/machined to accept later, unit” style oil seal, nstead of the weak bronze bushing as was originally tasked to keep good oil pressure. Top End: Vintage cylinders bored/honed +.060”, ew JCC pistons and Hastings rings also fitted, ll performed by Franz and Grubb Engine in North Hollywood CA. Typical eight-bolt cylinder head cracks were ground out, IG welded, nbsp;then shaped, iled, nd faced. New brass valve guides installed and bored for the new stainless steel valves that were hand-lapped, eak tested, nd installed. Both spark plug holes were repaired with Time-Sert inserts (NOT Helicoil!). Time-Sert is the BEST way to repair damaged threads, ar none. Two new Amal Monoblock carbs with polished/screened velocity stacks were installed and tuned. This era of bike did not come with a manifold cross over tube, o the manifold was modified so one could be installed. The standard tappet adjusters were replaced by better “Mushroom” adjusters. Tappet covers are new production Hall Hall “Starburst” units. All motor hardware is either newly zinc-plated or new stainless steel. Custom head steadies were designed and built by AMM to reduce engine movement and vibration. Transmission: This gear box got a full rebuild with all new bearings, ushings, nd kick start ratchet gear/pinion. It also got a custom speedometer delete plug and a custom camplate bushing plug, oth to address the typical pre unit transmission leaks. Another improvement to this bike was a custom clutch cable perch made onto the right-side motor mount plate, nstead of the weak and flexible one usually found on the top transmission hardware. The sprocket is a 20 tooth. New stainless steel hardware was used throughout. This is a vintage British bike, o if you haven’t noticed this yet – the gear shift is on the RIGHT SIDE, he brake is on the LEFT side. Being British also means it will leak a little oil. Plan on using the front brake mostly as a “hill-holder”. It will NOT stop like a dual-disc sport bike. The rear hub is a Triumph “spool”, ith a 43t rear drum/sprocket. Both wheels have new brake shoes, ew sealed wheel bearings, ew hardware, olished stainless spokes, owder-coated hubs/hub parts. Lacing/truing by Buchanan Spoke and Wheel. Remember, his bike has mechanical drum brakes, o you will need to alter your riding style if you are accustomed riding with hydraulic disk brakes. Frame/body: The Duplex frame is the original one that was issued with the motor. The VIN numbers on the left side of the neck are original, nd they do match the VIN numbers on the left side of the motor. All unused tabs and bosses were shaved, illed and filled flat. All new tabs/bosses were TIG welded on. The frame was then media blasted and gloss black powder coated. The steering neck was upgraded to Timken tapered bearings, op/bottom. The tail section is a TFMW +5” back, own 2.5” with custom shortened axle plates. Custom AMM final drive chain tensioner keeps the chain in check. Oil tank: Custom AAM vertical unit with sight-tube and features a removable filter screen oil feed fitting, s was used originally. There is an oil filter plumbed in the return line, t is a FLO PCS4B reusable filter. All oil and fuel lines are clamped with twisted, tainless steel safety wire. License/tail lights: Custom AMM bracket, 0-gauge, nd powdercoated. Two brass “Tit-Mouse” LED tail lights by After Hours Choppers handle rear safety lighting. Rear fender: 13 gauge, and spun with threaded+counterbored bungs for mounting system. Chain guard: 12 gauge steel, rake-bent, ith “lightening” holes. Saddle: Pan is an AMM design, 0 gauge steel, ith FULL leather cover top/bottom, ith a ½” layer of memory foam under the top layer. The covers are laced with 25’ of kangaroo lace. The saddle leather was tooled, yed, inished, nd laced by AMM. Gas tank: Cole Foster, arly production (superior) and was modified to work on Triumph frame. The tank has a recessed gas filler cap. This tank holds about 2.2 gallons. Hand turned/machined/knurled brass brake adjuster knob by AMM. Body work was done by Steve at Definitely Different body shop. The amazing paint/art work was done by Ryzart. Exhaust pipes: AMM “Window-Blasters” were hand-made, rom mild steel, ll TIG welded, and metal-finished, hen ceramic coated by JET-HOT. Front end: High-quality, uro-made HD replica. Custom shortened HD castle nut/dust-cover so the springer pits perfectly to the Triumph frame. All front end parts are powder coated gloss black. Custom made alloy, ounter-bored caps, ith stainless socket-head bolts for top of rear legs. Handle bars: Custom AMM bars TIG welded to a modified top clamp. All front end fasteners are new; either parkerized, hromed, tainless, r polished alloy. Care and time was spent so that the cable management was functional and attractive. Primary drive: A new Bob Newby Racing belt drive/clutch (dry) with “lightened” pressure plate was used. Final drive 530 chain is new heavy duty DID. The primary cover was cut to expose and ventilate clutch/alternator, hen polished. Foot controls: Custom mid-controls were modified to work as mid-controls. Custom linkage, rackets, nd pivots were special made for this application. Electrical: All wiring is new, oldered, nd heat-shrinked for insulation. A new stator rotor and 200w stator field was installed. The rectifier is a Tympanium. Two capacitors are wired in place, o there is NO BATTERY needed. The headlight is an art-deco repop, nd does have HI and LOW beam switch. In the rear there are two LED light arrays that have both tail and brake light function. The switch for the brakes is on the rear brake pedal ONLY. It is adjustable, f needed. All wiring is routed inside frame tubing when possible, or a nice clean look. The Ride: This is a rigid bike, o you should not expect it to be a "road sofa". But it really does handle very well and is easy to ride. The riding position is not as bad as some might assume. The foot rests are mounted mid, o you can unweight the saddle if you see a big bump coming. I've ridden sport bikes for years and these rigid bikes are easier on my body and wrists for whatever reason.
