1992 Yamaha TDM 850

These TDM motorcycles are one of the first of the ADV bikes which have become so popular today. This one is in the very unusual purple color.
They have a cult following because of their great practicality and still sell well worldwide except for North America where they were only available for one or two years.
This particular bike belongs to a good friend with multiple health issues. It was parked around 3 years ago after he suffered a stroke, ut had not been used much for the previous 5 years as he found it increasing hard to "get his leg over", hoosing to ride his other bike instead.
It has 60K miles and was running very well until it was parked. It does start easily but is only running one one cylinder, would expect a simple carb. cleaning would have it running like a champ again.
With TLC this bike could easily be restored to a first class riding machine but it does look very sorry for itself at present.

here's a comment just received from a potential buyer..Quote "I am a huge fan of this bike-we have ten of them in our Classic bike club in Birmingham, L, o I know them and their characteristics very well. Ff the left cylinder is the one that's not working, t's 99% chance it is the carb-fuel flows from the right carb to the left on these and the left float sticks closed when they sit upon the side stand for extended periods of time."

I have just received the title from the owner and there are 2 incorrect facts on it.It was issued 8/27/98 when the owner purchased the bike and it states mileage as 66,343 and the color is listed as white.Have no idea why this is wrong.
Also whilst the VIN states made in 1992, t was not registered till 1993
