1982 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special -Low Miles- Original Not Chopped or Modified

1982 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special II. Only 7796 original miles. previously owned by a mechanic. many new parts. It would not take much in the way of time or money to get it road ready. Bike ran and was registered last fall. now dead. due to electrical problem. It could be the stator which is a common problem for this model- another mechanic I consulted felt it was more probably the ignition switch or wiring. Regardless. I don't have the time to chase it. so here it is for sale. Engine turns. with good resistance/good compression when using the kick start. This one is too nice to chop. bob. or modify. and would be an easy restoration back to almost new condition. The factory black fenders ( that is how this version came) and tank would be an easy cleanup and re-finish if you want to restore to new. or buff them out and keep it original. The seat. tank ( no dents and clean). side covers. chrome. etc. are all in excellent shape ( headers have some rust on the inside surface but look good for appearance sake). Tach cover (common part) has a small dent. Tires. struts. heels. are very nice and newish. May need other minor repairs unknown to me ( looks like brake and clutch cables should be replaced and adjusted. etc. nothing major). so I have started this out at a very reasonable starting bid. Sold as is. as pictured. but it seems to be way nicer than some of the higher mileage. non-running 650s I see sell on Ebay for way more than my starting bid. Sold with Bill of Sale and Previous registration. no title as it came out of Maine which does not require a title for bikes of this age. I cannot ship. pickup only. but I am available to assist a shipper to pickup during the week if you make the arrangements.
