Description

I bought this car in February 2002 from the 2nd owner who sold it when it went out of warranty. I used it as a daily driver for a little over 2 years. when I got heavily into autocross. At that point. it was trailered everywhere because it was easier to do than swapping wheels on site. At the very last autocross of 2004. the oil pump nut dropped for the 2nd time in 6 months. so I pulled the engine and had Chuck Stickley rebuild it with Schrick cams and all other needed modifications. I finished 4th at the National ProSolo in SM class in 2005 and then at that point I put the car back to street duty since I didn’t want to permanently modify the car to where it could compete with the top guys. I finished the bodywork and had the car painted. It’s a monster street car which I daily drove once again for another 2 years with its flared fenders and 11” rear wheels. I've been asked a couple of questions about the motor. The oil pump nut dropped twice in 6 months. so I just pulled the motor and had it rebuilt. I could have just put the nut back on a second time and I'm sure the motor would have been just fine. However. to do it right. I had Chuck Stickley rebuild it and it became a total beast. It's a very fast car and I've pulled E46 M3s on the street. The only dyno I have of it is 263rwhp 245ft using a very restrictive stock OBD-I exhaust manifolds and midpipe. With the Remus headers and high flow 3" cat mid-pipe on it now. it should be much closer to 270+. The Epic Motorsports tune is a standard tune. and there is one "clean-up" tune left if the new owner wants to get the car dyno'd with data captured and sent to Epic for the clean-up. The headgasket was replaced around 1000 miles ago and it's good for a long time again and the pictures show the motor when that was done. When people asked what’s been done to the car. I tell them the transmission is stock. It’s the easiest way to explain it since I’ve owned the car for almost 13 years and I’ve replaced just about everything along the way. I don’t drive the car much and it took me a year to put 500 miles on the car to break in the new clutch. The front bumper needs to be painted and other parts of the body are showing age. The car has never been in an accident and all body panels are original with matching VIN numbers. The wheels need some TLC with polishing the lips and some of the bodywork is showing some age. The interior was fully restored (not that restoration was needed) and the leather seats were reconditioned with a full Leathique treatement. The headliner and pillars were recovered with a suede like material. The interior is beautiful. This car would be very simple to “stance” with the CCW wheels. The outer rim halves just unbolt and get replaced for a couple hundred dollars. The rear wheels could easily be changed to 18x12” or even 13” and the front can go to 11”.
