1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Barn Find
GM assembly date of February 27, 1967 in the St. Louis assembly plant. The second owner purchased it in 1971 and drove it in South Carolina until 1989. It then sat for 27 years until he passed away. Recently gone through and given a tune up, all fluids replaced, rebuilt brakes and new pads. It starts right up and drives well. Has many of the original parts on it. Never been restored. Hard top and soft top car.
Some highlights:
Original VIN tag, trim tag, and tank stickerOriginal code 988 Marlboro maroon paint. Looks mostly original, the tops of the front fenders appear to have had paint applied at some point in time. Original code 420 Saddle vinyl interiorOriginal correctly dated seatbeltsOriginal dated L79 327/350 hp engineOriginal dated Muncie M21 close ratio transmissionOriginal dated 3.55:1 positraction rear endOriginal non-DOT Uniroyal Laredo 7.75-15 tiresOriginal DC Rallye wheelsOriginal dated glassOriginal dated alternatorOriginal dated overflow tank
There's probably more that I'm not aware of either. I've described this to the best of my ability, and I've tried to take as many pictures of as many dates/part numbers that I can. Of course some of them are difficult to get to. Please email me for a link to 60 pictures, I wasn't able to include it in the auction. I certainly welcome checking the car out in person. It is now in Westchester County, NY.
Almost everything works in the car. The only things I've found to not work are the radio, clock, and drivers side interior door handle. Locks work, All windows roll up and down smoothly, gauges work.
Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks
Please see 60 high resolution pictures here with additional detail!
