The DS series is famous for the unique hydraulic/pneumatic suspension that accounts for its wonderful handling and super smooth ride. This example had a fully documented (lots of receipts from a specialist shop) mechanical overhaul in early 2014 which cost almost $11,000 and it needs nothing mechanically. It starts readily, akes bumps and stops like a late model car. The no clutch peddle Citromatic transmission is properly adjusted and smooth as silk.
The paint and cosmetics in general are driver quality. I have tried picture the problem areas, ncluding the dinged up bumpers, nd the wavy area on left rear door. The pictures may not show it, ut the car is wearing an older paint job which, hile shiny and attractive at 20 feet, as lots of nicks and poor masking. I have recently spent about $1,500 to replace some trim pieces. Although it is a 20 footer, he car always draws an enthusiastic crowd here in the SanDiego area, here Ferraris are ubiquitous. But, f I were to keep the car, would attend to the following: straighten and polish the stainless steel bumpers, eupholster the rear seat (front has been done) and strip and repaint the vehicle. There has been some well done rust repair in the trunk and the trunk lid is a fiberglass replacement, ut overall the car is sound and much better than the typical Citroen.
For background, purchased this Citroen on eBay in late 2014 intending to drive it and eventually restore the cosmetics, ut my priorities have changed. The new owner will inherit a thick file of documents. To summarize, he owner before me imported the Citroen from London, ntario Canada in 2003. (That's why it has the European turning headlights.) Invoices from the Canadian owner go back to 1990, ut that's where the trail ends. My phone is 617-901-3457.
