Description

You’re considering my 1973 Jaguar XJ6 late Series I Sedan. I believe it is one of the nicest you’ll find anywhere. I purchased it from a couple in Colorado who had owned it for many years. They had been given the car by the lady’s elderly father would owned the car since nearly new. Both owners took obvious pride in the car; driving and showing it often. It appears that the paint is all or mostly all original and the paint, etal work, hrome and original interior are in remarkable condition. There is NO RUST on the Jaguar visible anywhere. In the tradition of the previous owner I have taken great pride of ownership in this beautiful vehicle and have seen to it that the Jaguar remained a joy to own and drive. The engine runs flawlessly. I was told by the previous owner it was replaced with a then nearly new Series III motor when the original engine developed issues with the valves. It is quiet, ever runs hot, s smooth and powerful and uses little to no oil. (It does drip a few drops at rest but nothing out of the ordinary.) The automatic transmission functions beautifully with clean, ed fluid. The A/C compressor kicks on but the system does not blow cold. The clock works but is not the original, lthough the original presumably nonfunctioning clock is included. The original radio is in place but does not function. The oil pressure gauge works sporadically. With the exception of the items noted, ll mechanical and electrical systems function absolutely as they should.

Overall this is a beautiful and sorted car. Not restored, ut lovingly preserved in remarkable condition. I highly encourage an in-person or third party inspection before the end of the auction. The Jaguar is in regular use and can be driven with complete confidence. In fact, know of no reason why the car could not be driven anywhere but I advise trailering or transporting beyond a few hundred miles out of respect for the car and conditions that prevail en route on today’s interstate system. I’llgladly answer questionsupon request. Call Al at 210-870-0667

Finally, his is a NO RESERVE auction. If you bid, ou are bidding to win, o please askany questions beforehand and do not bid unless you havemade up your mind and areprepared tofollow through.

CORRECTION: (Added 6/11/2014) I mistakenly referred to the engine in the original listing as a "then nearly new Series III motor". It should have readthen nearly new Series II motor. For those interested, he engine number is 8L232245-S.
