Earls Court Motor Show, 961, he entire audience was in awe at Jaguar Cars Ltd stand and the unveiling of the all new E-Type or XKE. The new sports car was so advanced and had performance that was unheard of for its time. Even Enzo Ferrari said “Perhaps one of the most beautiful cars in the world, oo bad it doesn’t have a prancing horse on it”. The E-Type was capable of 150MPH and zero to 60MPH in less than 7 seconds. The E-Type continued on with three series, nd three different engines. For model year 1968 Jaguar made a small amount of cars with open headlights but early series tail lights known as the Series 1.5. It is possibly the quintessential sports car of all time and one of the most collected European sports cars. As the E-Type values continue to climb so does the desirability for one.
European Motor Studio is proud to offer this stunning 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 FHC finished in British Racing Green over Black leather. This FHC was invoiced to North American and has been just surfaced fresh out of a private collection from Southern California. This matching numbers E-Type is a beautiful example of the rare one year only Series 1.5 in fixed head form. The odometer shows just over a 100,000 which is actual and correct. The British Racing Green paint has been done within the last 5 or so years and has a stunning shine and depth to it. There are only a few small paint issues, small chip in the paint on the driver side hood line against the cowl, ne small scratch in the paint on the lower passenger and driver door edge and two small chips in the rear hatch edge. The body is incredibly straight and damage and rust free. The shut lines are very nice and pretty even. All of the chrome is very nice and shows only minimal age. The interior has been completely re-done in correct Jaguar leather and carpets and shows beautifully. The dash has also been removed and re-done with correct materials (correct under dash boards are with the car). All of the trim, ubber and switch gear are either new or in excellent condition. The matching numbers engine and carbs have been re-built and runs incredibly strong. The engine starts right up and does not smoke under start up or acceleration. It shifts beautifully through all of the gears and does not slip or grind. The gearbox is nice and strong and the clutch is solid without any signs of slipping. The brakes have a good strong feel to them and free from any fade. The suspension and steering are all tight and free from any known issues. The car has new tires as of a few months ago and the brakes and suspension appear to have been done recently. All of the electrical equipment appears to be operating as designed including all of the instrumentation, ights, orn, ipers and cooling fans. The wire wheels have also been re-plated within the last few years and look beautiful. The engine stays cool at cruising speeds and in stop and go traffic; there are no over-heating issues with the car. The undercarriage is very nice and pretty original, ree from any rust or damage. The car appears to be wearing its original floors and rockers. The original spare tire, ack and keys are present with the car. This is a beautiful, ery straight Series 1.5 FHC finished in striking colors that would be an excellent addition to the enthusiast or Jaguar collector.
