Description

2003 Jeep Rubicon TJ Wrangler with a custom 5.7 Hemi Conversion with a 5 speed Manual transmission, omplete with functioning Air Conditioning. Yep, he ultimate Jeep... a HEMI powered Rubicon. Engage the factory lockers and point her where you want to go... she will take you there!!!!!
This Patriot Blue Rubicon was traded in on a deal on another Hemi Rubicon build I did last year. After driving this Jeep for a few weeks, nbsp;I decided to go ahead and do a Hemi Conversion on the Jeep. The Jeep is clean, o rust on the fenders and the interior is clean with solid floors and complete carpets. It just had the common little bit of rust on the rear of the tub. I had the local body shop take care of that- all cleaned up, ailgate replaced and it all freshly painted.
Before it got torn down it was set up with: a 2" budget lift, ftermarket front track bar, KS front disco sway bar links and a winch bumper with an XRC winch installed. . Interior was all stock except for the aftermarket Kenwood Radio and a switch for some KCs on the front bumper. I found the winch was in need of some attention. The winch was serviced and a new clutch end cap, eal and lever has been installed- bringing it back to proper operation.
The new power plant, 2007 5.7 Gen 3 Hemi, as pulled from a Dodge Ram with 77k on it. The donor Ram was totaled as a result of a side impact. The stock Jeep NV3550 5 speed transmission was retained with custom 5 speed conversion kit from Red Rock Offroad- which included New clutch pressure plate, lywheel, tarter and a conversion beelhousing. A custom RRO 4wd cable shifter kit for the stock NP241 Roc Trac Transfer case was installed to handle the 4wd operation.
Engine upgrades include EGR delete, BA shorty headers, lectric fan, core custom conversion radiator, old air intake, ull 2.5" exhaust with a thrush 'welded series' muffler.
The Rubicon received the new design of RRO's independent transmission cross-member. The cross-member will also adjust up if you want to put a lower clearance skid on instead of the stock skid later on.
The old springs and shocks were junked and all new suspension kit was installed- 2.5" lift springs and shocks. 1.25" body lift was installed as well. Newer MB wheels and new Mud Terrains wrap them nicely. The stock 3/4" front coil spring isolators were tossed and taller 1.75" spacers were installed to balance the front of the Jeep out from the winch and off road bumper.
A custom built DC rear driveshaft was built, alanced and installed in the Jeep. The front drive shaft was re-sized, alanced and installed in the Jeep.
The Kenwood radio was removed and the radio wiring was redone while the aftermarket switches were installed in the center dash. The worn out stock speakers were all removed and [4] new 5.25" Riot speakers were installed. The front dash speakers were installed using adapter plates designed for the 5.25" speaker and they also correct the position of the speaker-directing the sound at the occupants- not the floor. [3] new stock style switches were installed in the stock switch panel for the new auxiliary LED light systems that have been added. The stock Rubicon axle lock switch was retained to control the factory lockers. The "Rubicon switch" bypass modification has been performed so that you can engage the lockers at your choice.
A 50" lightbar was installed on a set of windshield mounts that are also window frame guards. A set of LED light pods were installed on the lower windshield. A 2nd set of LED light pods were installed on the front winch guard. The worn stock fog lights were removed and replaced with a new set of 55w Pro Comp Driving lights.
The winch was removed, he bumper received a new top coat and then the winch was re-installed with new grade 8 bolts. The winch wiring was also re-done.
The Jeep did receive a custom built A/C system that utilizes the stock dash switches and many other stock components, ith the HEMI A/C compressor at its base. The system functions as a stock A/C system should.
The GEN3 Hemi truck produces approx 345hp in stock form. The JBA shorty Headers are dyno proven 24-32 hp gain. Combined with a shorty CIA kit and electric fan nets a 5-11 hp gain. Combined results of estimated 370hp as installed.
This JEEP has a CLEAN GREEN MICHIGAN TITLE w/ NO LEIN. It has no mechanical issues that I am current.y aware of and all systems function as they should. According to eBays AutoChecker, his JEEP was bought back by a dealer in 2004 and eBay dictates that it must be listed that way. Prior to it being traded in on the other HEMI build, t was owned and daily driven by an older couple for a few years. I was told it was owned by a teacher before they bought it. That is the extent of the known history.
