Description |

This is a 1970 S2 Lotus Europa. A fantastic looking aerodynamic masterpiece of British engineering.
The backbone chassis is in excellent condition with just minor surface rust showing in places. The glassfibre body is also in great shape. There are some of the typical Lotus cosmetic stress cracks but very minor, here is a small crack by the drivers door handle that does not affect the handles operation. The paint is really nice quality and the car overall looks quite spectacular. The colour and stripe really suit the body style. The doors open and close great and do not drop at all. All the glass is in good condition, he chrome and brightwork is nice.
The Interior is fare, oth seats have some splitting, he headliner has some rips and the drivers side visor and trim piece above the door are missing. The dash cover is nice but the wood dash has a lot of cracks. Despite the flaws the interior is still quite presentable and very useable. All the instruments work. Most of the electrics are working, here is no horn button so the horn doesn't work. Sometimes the charge light blinks on while driving but according to a volt meter and the in dash ammeter the charging system is working great. It has a new battery.
The engine starts easily and runs great. It has around 40psi oil pressure when fully warmed up. A weber progressive two barrel carb has been installed instead of the original solex. The exhaust sounds very sporty but is rather loud and some people may want to replace the muffler. The gearbox works great and shifts through all gears really nicely. The clutch and brakes both work well. The tyres are in very good condition with lots of tread left. There is no spare wheel/tyre included.
This car was last licensed in Oregon in 2001 and has been in storage for some time until recently. It is running and driving great but it will probably need tinkering here and there so should probably go to someone who understands the special needs of Lotus cars. prospective buyers should also consider that Europas where not made for extremely tall drivers, ven my dog is as tall as this car!! (see last picture).
It does come with a clear title.
Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangments.
I highly recommend and encourage a personal inspection if possible.
The Europa is located in Granite Falls WA (near Seattle)
I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
Must be picked up within 30 days of end of auction.Full payment is due within one week of auction end.
Please feel free to ask any questions and be sure to watch the video of this car in action:
