1970 Lotus Europa S2 Autocross Car Restored with Many Upgrades & Mods ......please be patient while the many photos load.....
Nice and tight little 1970 Lotus Europa S2 for sale with a great Autocross setup. Owned by Lotus enthusiast and in really nice shape all around.
Starts; runs and drives great with plenty of power, no smoke and smooth idling with a rebuilt 1565 cc Renault engine in excellent health and state of tune with outstanding, effective carburetion via the 40mm twin Webbers with K&N Filters, custom Aluminum Performance intake manifold (sourced from Italy), lightweight aluminum flywheel, Performance tuned exhaust headers with Super-Trapp exhaust, custom oil cooler with remote high capacity remote oil filter setup and a high capacity oil pump. Engine turns out plenty of power at around 120bhp with Performance "Hot" cam from Paeco and 1.7 litre Big Bore pistons and sleeves. It has an electric fuel pump upgrade with a competition style external battery cut-off switch. Peripherals include upgraded radiator fan, new alternator and battery. Tight and responsive four wheel independent suspension, front disc brakes, rear drum and new pads & shoes. Spax adjustable performance shock absorbers, Performance Springs, adjustable Rear Camber Links and Performance bushings. Rides on Pirelli P44 175/70/13, spare wheel included. Drivability is terrific, rides very well with no shakes or rattles, very stable, steering very responsive, good general feel, appropriate exhaust note yet not too loud.
Clean, presentable exterior with clean fiberglass body, double red & gold vinyl striping down the middle 13” wide, paint pearl white. The car was originally Bahama Yellow with no signs of original yellow color, age of paint unknown, but quality good with only minor hairline cracks in paint, typical of fiberglass bodies. It has a nice luster and shine.
Professionally, fully restored interior is very quiet and comfortable for long drives and nicely insulated and includes lap seat belts, functioning ventilation and heat, refinished wood dash, new leather dash pad and upgraded radio with door mounted speakers. Electrics have been gone through and include an improved Fuse panel, relays and new window motors. Very nice wood and aluminum MotoLita steering wheel with Lotus horn button and matching wooden shift knob, clean console and nice, tidy, functional instrumentation. Electric windows switches work well. Windshield wiper switch needs replacing.
