ThIs 1972 Mercedes 280 SE 4.5 is a well preserved example with its original 4.5 liter V8 with approximately 114,000 miles. It's an extremely nice driver. It does not come with past service records, although the level of quality of the body and mechanicals shows it has had regular maintenance over the past 44 years.
The car retains its original paint combined with an older respray, which presents itself well today. No signs of overspray are visual and the car ID tags and engine decals are not painted over or have been removed. The exterior glass, rubber and bright work are in good condition. Optional Bundt alloy wheels, including the spare, are shod with new sumitomo tires. A new battery is also present. The car has NO RUST. It has no bondo, no dents and is in excellent condition.
The interior is all original leather in good condition. The rear seat back has been subject to the elements and shows deterioration and cracking. All gauges are operable and even the antennae raises when the Mexico radio is turned on. The AC system works but is need of refrigerant. The carpeting is light cream colored and shows minor imperfections.
The car runs strong and is ready for a cross country trip. The car has NO RUST and the undercarriage has been under coated with NO CORROSION issues. This car has been dutifully garaged its whole life. It's very presentable and would make for a classy and dependable daily driver.
