Nice example of a rare Packard. The Executive was the last new model introduced by Packard. Rare car only 1032 two door hardtops like this one were made making it the last of the true Packards before they became a top trim level Studebaker in 1957. A beautiful car with the peaked front fenders of the 1956 senior Packards and at the rear the iconic tail lights that became a mainstay of custom car builders. These are interesting cars as they break with the usual coil spring front, eaf spring rear suspension of most American cars of the period and use full length inter-conected torsion bars with automatic self leveling. This car has been off the road since 1982. I bought it in 1984. A California car it was given to a friend of mine by his aunt, nd I bought it from him. Car ran but had no reverse gear as the push button in the electric gear shift had a broken contact.I replaced the push button set with a nos one and all was well. 61 thousand miles is correct mileage. Car was straight and rust free. I had it painted, ound a set of nos factory seat covers in the original colors and had the fabric in the door panels replaced with nos material from SMS they made up a new headliner in the correct material as well. Interior looks like new! Mechanically the car needs to be gone through as its been sitting for over 30 years. I have driven it on to a trailer and moved it around different storage places but thats it. Engine runs with no smoke, ar runs off gas tan, elf leveling works well.Rear antennas work, adio does not. Brakes work but need to be gone through and tires are old. New trunk seal but rest of rubber needs replacing. Stainless is very good with no dents. Chrome is driver quality with small pits. Car needs more work but the heavy lifting is done. I have over ten project cars that need to be completed and am into my 60's so I need to thin the herd. Good project for the right person.
