We have here a 1978 Pontiac 400 4-speed W72 WS6 project car. Although not verified I believe it to be a y88 car as it has all the markings. This car was taken off the road in the 80's due to a small front-end Collision. The Body Shop pretty much started a full-on restoration but was abandoned in their shop in the early 90's and there it sat till I got my hands on it. Boy was I glad I did because this car is not like many I've seen. both the front fenders as well as the Rockers and all the under body is in excellent shape for a Midwest car. I cannot promise that this car is rust free but I would say it's 98% rust-free the Rockers look great the fenders look excellent the quarters look fantastic. The gold t-tops look stellar. The interior is complete but might need a little work if you are a perfectionist. When's the last time you seen a dash look that good on any Pontiac. I picked up where they left off and worked on it extensively. Then as most of us car guys know life got in the way and the project just got put on the back burner. Much has been done to this Pontiac Trans Am. For starters the complete front stub was rebuilt with no expense spared. Both rear quarters were removed and reinstalled and the job was done very well. The original numbers matching 4-speed transmission was rebuilt as was the rear differential. There was a small amount of patch work done to the passenger side floor pan. This car in my opinion is an excellent start to a Pontiac enthusiast or anyone in the market for a solid 4 Speed car. I do have the block that came with the car but there is no vin number stamped so I believe it to be a warranty block. It does have the correct stamping for a 4-speed block and it is a 1978 block but there is no vin present. I also have all the 400 accessories which include the w72 6X heads as well as all the accessories such as power steering pump, lternator, ntake, arb, haker, inkage and just about everything else under the hood but I cannot promise that I have every single Nut and Bolt. This car has been in my possession for close to 10 years and alot has been done. The pictures speak for them selves. I will be adding more photographs as the auction goes on and if you have any specific questions please feel free to contact me and I will forward you information as well as specific pictures you are looking for. Don't miss out on your opportunity to pick up a very nice, ery clean, ery solid, or Speed Pontiac Trans Am that will only increase in value as the years go on at a very affordable starting price.
Parts that I know for sure are missing are as follows.Doors, ront and rear glass, nbsp;seat belts, nbsp;and some odds and ends. I do have both driver and passenger power regulators and both passenger and driver softray tinted door glass but no door shells themselves.
This car is listed to sell and the last bid wins the auction so please be serious when bidding, f you do not intend to pay for the car, r pick up within 7 days please do not bid. I can hold the car for a little longer but Arrangements would have to be made prior to the end of the auction. I will be happy to help arrange shipping but the financial burden will be solely on the buyer.
Thanks for reading and good luck with your Pontiac 4 speed muscle car purchase!
