Description

You won't believe what an amazing. beautiful car this is!The TR-250 is truly one of the great British sports cars. The 250 was made exclusively in 1968 and combined the beautiful lines of the TR-4 (enhanced with the perfect amount of chrome and markers) with the reliability and performance of the TR-6. There is no more desirable Triumph and the single year production reinforces the collector value. Granted. the 250 doesn't have the lines or prestige of the big Healey. but when there's 10 Healey's and only one 250 at this year's "All Triumph" show. you'll be proud to be the owner (and you drove yours there!!!). Note that my very first car was a TR-250 that I purchased in 1974 and I still have the car today (not the one for sale). My wife of 32 years drove the car across the country and it's NEVER let us down. Again. no finer sports car for the money anywhere! When I purchased this car the owner had completed a total frame on restoration of a very original car. He started with a very solid car (I can find no rust repair so I believe it was very clean) and he had the engine completely rebuilt. installed all new interior. and had the car repainted with a beautiful base coat. clear coat black paint job (note he elected not to spray the classic TR-250 reflective stripe that can be easily added if desired). In the process. he replaced all the rubber including 4 beautiful new tires on classic Panasport alloy spoke wheels. He also added a new "Manza" style exhaust and classic roll bar. Plus. it has a BRAND NEW black top on it. Best of all this is an "Overdrive" car with the sticker and wiring and it works flawlessly. If you're buying a TR-250. I highly recommend you hold out for a well-functioning overdrive car. It's worth the wait. They cruise effortlessly down the highway and set your car apart from the pack. Even better. the notorious "second gear sincro" works as smooth as silk and never kicks out on a down shift. The only two items that could use attention are the engine compartment and the dash. I was surprised that the engine compartment wasn't fully detailed when the engine was completed. It looks nice and with some elbow grease would look great. but at this time it's "driver" quality. Also. the dash appears to have been refinished with heavy varnish and could use sanding/polishing. Both jobs are very easily accomplished by the backyard mechanic and create the pride of accomplishment and linkage to the car. She runs great. drives perfectly. and draws a lot of attention. Take her to the show. church. or across the country. You have to love the TR-250. I do!
