1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Original Unrestored

1972 FJ40 in very original/unmolested condition. It is a solid candidate for restoration. The vehicle belonged to one man up until he parked it in 2012 and later died in 2013. I purchased it from the daughter of the original owner earlier this year. I am trying to put money together to build a house otherwise this listing would not be here. I have a few old Toyotas and love them dearly. I sincerely hope this one will go to someone who will show it the love I would have given it. I have done the following since purchase:new oil and oil filter. the oil that came out did look old but the key thing is it was not milky/watery or anything that didn't look like oilnew oem Toyota ignition switch since the truck did not come with a keyadded fresh gasthe truck purrs like a kitty. no strange noises. no knocks. nothing bled the brakes and clutchThings you should know before bidding. Even though I bled the brakes and clutch. neither are road ready. Both systems require attention. The previous owner has made some questionable repairs to the wiring and wiring such as the battery cables are about shot. I don't think there is anything catastrophic. but be aware there are wires that need to be fixed properly. Currently I have to run a jumper wire to the ignition switch to get it to crank. (green wire in pictures) The previous owner took out driving without the original hood latched and it blew up and hit the front edge of the roof. There is some damage there. (again nothing serious but it will need attention) This is why the hood is red. It is a correct hood for the year. I. E. it is not a split hood. The windshield is fogged around the edges. The other glass is in good shape. The driver rear tail light is not original. The brackets and taillights are available though. The rear taillight and hood are the only non original parts of this truck I am aware of. The front seats have been redone at some point. There is a small puncture in the drivers seat. The rear jump seat material is shot. There are small issues with the body with the driver fender being the worse of it. There's also minimal damage above both taillights. I have pictures of the imperfections. The tires have good tread but are old and weather cracked. They all hold air. The spare tire is very old and very weathered. I do not have the hubcaps other than the one on the spare. The upper radiator hose is shot. It seeps coolant after the truck gets warmed up. All of the belts and hoses should be addressed. The truck comes with the original correct mirror arms. I do not have the mirror heads. The battery pictured belongs to my dad and does not come with the truck but it is available to start and load. I have a few batteries and if I can find one that will hold a charge I will let it go with the truck. 3 speed on the floor. It comes with 12 new oem toyota leaf spring bushings. The previous owner purchased 24(i have the receipt). So either he replaced half of them or misplaced half of them. The undercarriage and the engine bay are somewhat wet in the pictures. The passenger floorboard has a small area that looks like it has been fiberglassed over. The rear hatch outside handle is broken. Clear title in my name. Located in Dublin. VA 24084. Odometer shows 43. 00. I assume it is 143. 00 but it could be 43. 00. I was told the truck was not the original owners daily driven vehicle and his daughter did not drive it after he passed.
