I purchased this van in the hopes of completing a 2. 5 liter Turbo Subaru conversion. Unfortunately the wife says one of my projects has to go and I have not done anything with this one other than a lot of dreaming and reading. My vehicle inspection is as follows:Brakes are inoperable. minimally needs repair to master cylinder. Brake lines are intact. have not pulled wheels in inspect individual hardware at wheels. Clutch is inoperable. Pedal moves but has no resistance. Again most likely a master / slave cylinder issue. Engine condition unknown. It is intact. the VIN decoding is a 2. 0. Engine is water cooled. Condition of cooling system is intact but unknown. Previous owner claims the head gaskets failed causing the vehicle to be inoperable for the last ten years before my purchase this spring. Tires hold air but are not road worthy. Severe dry rot. Recommend towing on a trailer. not a two wheel dolly. Steering components were claimed to be completely rebuilt / replaced by previous owner just prior to parking. A visual inspection indicates nothing broken or missing. The steering seems to be tight. although I obviously haven't driven the vehicle. Transmission shifter / linkage functions properly. Suspension looks completely tired and worn out. But completely intact. The exterior lighting seems to function correctly when jumper cables are hooked up. Although there are a few bulbs out. the directionals. headlamps. highbeams etc. all function. The interior cluster gauge seems to function. warning lights illuminate when jumper cables are hooked up. the clock is functional. The radio is missing. speaker condition is unknown. Windshield wipers all function. The climate controls are present. but the blower did not come on when the jumper cables were connected. The front seats have rips in the fabric. but could be recovered. the condition of the foam seems to be usable. The Rear seat folds up and down easily. Could definitely use a good cleaning. The carpeting needs to be replaced. I don't think its possible to salvage. Rear bed cushion is in good shape. but needs a good cleaning. Has staining that may not come clean. Upper bunk cushions are in good shape. relatively clean. Canvas on pop-top is severely rotted / ripped but is intact and could be used as a template. Zipper window still works. I plugged the van into 110v household current and the electrical outlets inside functioned but I could not get the refrigerator to power on. The stove is very clean but is untested. Gas tank is under van but is also untested. LP connections are present. Rooftop rear A/C unit is intact but untested. Sink & water hookups are present but plumbing has not been tested. All cabinets are fully functional and intact. No major damage or missing hardware. Rear mosquito netting included but will need repair or replacing. Would make a good template. Exterior:No body damageNo bubblingMajor paint fadingWindow seals should all be replaced if looking for a professional restoration. Could be usable if looking for a cheap daily driver. (no leaks. just look poor)Only minor surface rust under vehicleABSOLUTELY NO ROTThe worst of the rust is around the rear window in the hatch. Easily repaired with the window removed. All glass is intact. no noticeable pitting. No cracks / leaks. Skylight needs to be replaced. severely sun damaged. All doors open and close easily. Locks. hinges. latches. handles all 100%The rear hatch will need new lift arms. they are present but not functional. Spare tire included. but is surely not road worthy. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have about this vehicle. There are a few pieces of exterior trim included with the van. tossed in the back. This is a great candidate for a restoration or custom project. Very straight. very clean overall. I'm genuinely sad to sell this camper. I just don't have the time / finances to complete this project in the near future. I'm willing to negotiate with the right buyer and willing to repair / customize to suit.
