1981 BMW R65 Motorcycle

Times are hard and I need to sell some of my collection.

This is a 1981 R65 with low miles.

The bike is in very good condition.

The paint is still nice, o fading and very minor chips from the road.

The tires are in good shape and have many miles left on them.

I replaced the hand grips with Grab-On's because the old ones were starting to fall apart.

The bike fell over in a parking lot and cracked the left saddle bag. It made me sick to see that. It can be fixed with a hot air welder. The bags are classic and are not easy to find so it would be great to repair it.

The fairing isn’t stock and has aftermarket turn signals on it.

The saddle bag mounts have a luggage rack built into it which comes in handy for sleeping bag or a duffle bag.

It also has crash bars to protect the cylinder heads.

It still has the original tool kit and the tire pump that came on all BMW's.

The seat has been recovered and the material is still soft.

It has a kick starter on it which was not common in 1981.

It also has dual disk brakes in the front.

The steering head bearings were stiff so I cleaned them up and packed them with good high pressure, aterproof grease. The steering is very smooth now.

Everything works on the bike and the engine purrs like a kitten.

The bike has always been garaged.
