Description of [FOR SALE 1964 BMW R69S "THE RED GENT "] We are offering for sale this lovely, ow miles, 964 BMW R69S w Meier Large Sport Tank. It's a beauty!!!WE CAN FIT THE BIKE WITH THE BLACK TANK SHOULD YOU RATHER GO WITH ALL BLACK.This is all numbers matching machine including the frame, rame badge and the motor. Miles appear to be original to the bike.This bike is pretty original with accessories that every BMW enthusiast will appreciate like engine crash bars, enfeld solo seat complemented with the Pagusa in the back (stock factory setup). Bike comes with 2 ignition keys, riginal owners manual and Shop Manual.I can help to arrange the shipping of the bike to lower 48 states on buyers expense $350-$650 depending on the destination location.I use Uship.Recent service included following:* Change of all top end seals and gaskets, big job),* New drive shaft boot, ew screws and lock washers,* Everything torqued to specs,* Valves adjusted,* Fluids all changed,* New Air Filter Installed* New Exhaust Headers from Vech installed including the cross pipe,* New Solo Seats Installed,* New Switch Harness installed,* NOS tires installed,* Timing set,Bike runs and rides excellent and needs nothing. I rode this bike and shifted all 4 gears. It was a pleasure. This extraordinary machine usually starts in three kicks or less if you follow the procedure correctly. Electrical components all work as intended including the horn. Front and rear brakes are fully functional as well. Clean title in hand.
"The BMW R 69 S VIN 658506 was manufactured on February 10th, 964 and delivered on February 14th, 964 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat."
The BMW R69S, roduced from 1960 to 1969, as BMW’s sport bike of its day. With 42 horsepower, t was by far the most powerful bike BMW made at the time. You had to pay to play ($1,564 in 1966), ut that extra money bought you one of the most prestigious motorcycles available in the day.
This is one of my favorite motorcycles of the 1960’s. But I’ll leave the explanation of why that is to Cycle World, ho put it best in a 1962 review:
"Whatever the BMW’s merits in a contest of speed, t is still the smoothest, est finished, uietest and cleanest motorcycle it has ever been our pleasure to ride. To be honest, e think that anyone who would worry much over its performance-potential is a bit of a booby. The R69S is fast enough to handle any encounter, nd it has attributes that are, n touring, nfinitely more valuable than mere speed. All things considered, f we were planning a two-wheel style vacation/tour, he BMW would have to be our choice of mount."

If the seller is an Illinois Dealer, he following charges apply: 1) $20 drive-away permit[unless transferring plates] and 2) AZ, A, L, I, N, L, A, I, C residents must include their state's sales tax with payment[unless shipping]. Residents of other states pay taxes and license/registrations fees in their home state, ealers exempt.

Winning bidder must contact us within 24 hours of auction end, nd make arrangements for payment at that time. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction.
