1966 BMW R69S 3 owner bike that was bought new in Cambridge. Massachusetts at The Bicycle Exchange. As per the first owner. the sticker placed there when new is still on the left front fork. When I spoke with the first owner he confirmed that the mileage in fact was correct. He also confirmed that no modifications were done to the bike and that it is mostly original. The dual seat and luggage rack were on the bike when he bought it new. The bike still wears the original 1966 license plate first issued when new. The bike runs but needs to have the carbs set up correctly. I had both Bing 1/26 carbs rebuilt at Bing in Kansas. They were set to factory spec. however the bike seems to run a bit rich. New Metzer tires were installed by the second owner and have less than 400 miles on them. I was told that while the first owner had the bike. the toolkit was stolen. Only one large wrench remains with the dirty BMW cloth. The bike does however have the very rare air pump as can be seen in the photos located below the right side of the seat. Also. the original repair manual and a box of spare parts come with the bike. including the plastic cover that sits on top the battery. This is a great opportunity for someone to buy a rare R69S and either make it road worthy in its current condition or restore. This is a triple number matching bike. I will be happy to send any additional photos or talk to anyone further via telephone for additional details. Please send messages via eBay. As this bike is unrestored and almost 50 years old. it is being sold as is. where is. with NO warranty expressed or implied. Funds must be clear before the motorcycle and/or title will be released. This motorcycle is listed locally and I reserve the right to end this auction. Thank you for viewing my auction.
