65 Norton Atlas

This auction is for a very good example of a great British motorcycle, on't over look the Atlas model they are very sought after on the other side of the pond and my personal experience has been that it has out performed my other similar brit twins Triumph's and Bsa included.

It is still a low mileage mostly originalbike even has the STD size factorydished top pistonsfor low compression are still in their noticed them when I decarbonized the topend also that is the original seat covering in place.

Here is a list of repairs and Up-grades that I have done since I owned the bike and It probably has only covered 7k afterwards(other bikes to ride)

6 start oil pump drive, am chain replaced, ag chain replaced, il distribution seal for crank changed, ear box sprocket changed, olid state voltage regulator, oyer Dual coil, 968Commando distributor in place of magneto with electronic ignition now starts with key.

Bob Newbyprimary belt drive best on the market,cost $780 eliminated oil leaks from the badly designed steel primary coverand as an added benefit bike has less vibration also changed to the newer laminated style stator. Norvil pushrod seal conversion insures clutch stays dry.

Clutch now has a sweet take up and verylight lever pull.

I have decided to include the primary cover that waspart of the bike the chrome is much better. I cut up a spare may have cut to much for someone else's liking reallydon't need holes for ventilation justnever run the belt to tight and they are trouble free, nstructions are included.

New Toga exhaustmufflers, J S/matchless handle bars, enhill nylon lined clutch cable, oth instrument gauges rebuilt. Originalpaint is still on frame and has rebuilt Norton Roadholder forks. Single monobloc amal #389 in place of original dual carbs.

Dual leading front brake plate from early Commandoa must for such a great handling motorcycle.

Battery replaced this time last year

Bike is ready to ride needs nothing, ooks beautiful good chrome and paint,starts first kick andhardly leaks any oil.

Some low points that could use some attention but are only cosmetic.

Typical Atlas crack in rear fender. Original chrome on rimshas some pitted mostly on rear wheel,but the tires have a lot of lifeleft in them.

Oil wet sumps into crankcase if bike isn't run for long periods of time.

Fitted drain plug in sump todrainif that happens!

Bike has a clear N.J. state Title ****and a stack of receipts mostly from Waldridge motors.

If you are acollector the Frame and Engine numbers do match.

Motorcycle is a joy to ride, xtremely stable for a classic bikeand can handle 100 mile weekendrides in the summer months even on the highway with no over-heating !!
