Description

This motorcycle is the crown jewel of my 26 motorcycle collection. I am a professional Porsche mechanic of 45 years. shop owner for 35 of those years. nbsp;and work at the highest levels of workmanship without regards to expense or level of difficulty. All work was done by me including all the machine work other than the crankshaft rebuilding. The goal was to make the motorcycle operate as new without altering it’s time worn patina. Look at the tank. it is original paint with all the signs of 46 years. This motorcycle has been fully refurbished front to rear. top to bottom except for the magneto which was fully disassembled. cleaned. bearings greased and reassembled with new insulators. brushes and seals. All other parts and units were fully overhauled without compromise. The engine. transmission. clutch. front forks. swing arm and carburetor were done as good as can be done. The engine was as assembled with every detail. tolerance and measurement correct. I can supply photos of the engine work while in process. The chains. all bearings. all cables. electrics as needed were replaced and all the crummy hardware and bits were removed from past work. The crankshaft was completely rebuilt by Alpha Bearing in England. a new piston from Ed Gilkison and all other parts are from Grove Classics. It sports a proper new muffler and exhaust pipe. The new Alton starter/alternator with Shorai battery works perfectly with about only about 30 startups so far and I have a full complement of Alton service parts that was purchased as spares. It has a vintage Geoff Dodkin upper yoke. The engine and transmission have Ralph Seymour service stickers and his repair order stampings. in this case V428. on the castings as was his trademark. There are three things to note: 1. The frame number is RS17730 and is not original according to records. I can only guess why. road or race frame damage? 2. The motorcycle has stainless fenders. 3. It has a single lightweight race seat. For those that wring their hands. so be it. It is a Thruxton and was logged as such in Seymour’s records when I spoke to her years back. I have all the old parts. many new service parts. special tools. several books and all receipts that will go with the sale. The motorcycle seems to be fully sorted out and carburets well. the clutch works perfectly - yes it does. and the shifting is great. It is absolutely a major rush to ride this magnificent machine. It is exciting just looking at it and thinking about the smooth power that it has. it is a piece of work. I am happy to answer any questions. I will be frank. candid and polite to you. I will supply any picture. receipt or whatever I can to help you feel good about buying this special motorcycle. I plan on posting a YouTube video of the Alton starter this week so you can see that work. The Alton starts the engine almost instantly with no struggle at all. This cool thing needs nothing other than a new owner. Why sale it? Because I am expanding my business once again and that's the truth. See my other things for sale as they are posted. an almost perfect 1969 BSA Rocket III is next to go. This Velocette motorcycle does not have a warranty of any kind. If my descriptions and choice of words don't match your impressions or your opinions then you need to know that I have no intentions of. nbsp;or desire to lead you astray or fib (lie) to you. I simply want to sell you my motorcycle and for you to own motorcycle treasure.
