1978 Yamaha SR 500 / SR500

This is a VINTAGE 1978 Yamaha SR 500. It was Yamaha's answer to the BSA Goldstar. While it is complete. it is in rough cosmetic condition. The engine is in very good condition with a good compression ratio. The bike comes with a number of additions such as a second exhaust pipe. also in rough cosmetic condition. a second gas tank (likewise). the original turn signals. one original mirror with a second mirror however I've misplaced the mounting stalk. and an oil cooler. The sale of this bike is aimed towards the buyer who likes to restore antique motorcycles as I do not advise this to be a daily runner. It's over 30 years old and it has 30 year old technology including brakes. electrics and overall handling. I have replaced the brake line with a stainless line as Yamaha disc brakes of the era were poor and the shocks are Konis (the Japanese put oil in their shocks to stop them from squeaking and were poor for the day).
