1975 Honda CB400F Supersport cb750 cb550 cb500 cb400 original bike

1975 Honda CB400F Supersport First year bike in very original condition. all stock. the only part I can see missing is the chain guard. I bought the bike from the second owner. was purchased new in the next town by apparently a postman. the bike has been sitting in covered storage since 85 when I got it. I rebuilt the carbs with new seals. cleaned the tank and changed the fuel lines. rebuilt the front brake master cylinder and caliper and fitted a new battery. Oiled the chain and cleaned the bike and just generally got it to running and riding condition. It runs like a top. starts on both the kick start and electric start (had to fit an aftermarket start button. as this cb400f suffered the same brittle starter switch failure you always see on these and the 750's with the same switch. ) all electrics work. needs a flasher relay which I will fit before it goes. The bike has the original owners manual. tool kit and the personal tag which reads 400SS. I really wanted to keep this but it's a shame to split it from the bike. The original paint is pretty good. there is a small dent on he top of the tank that I think could be popped out and another small dent at the back of the tank. the header on the far right has a little rash right on the corner. other than that the exhaust is in fantastic shape! The rest of the bike is generally good condition for it's age chrome is good. wiring is all intact and not chopped or messed with. tires are pretty tired and will need to be changed before any highway riding can be done. but they do run round with no flat spots and hold air well so could be used for short town stuff for the time being. The clutch is a little whiney I think that could be just from sitting and might quiet down with use. but it shifts great through all gears. I do not currently have a title but if the buy it now price is agreed I will go and get the bike inspected and titled. which is an easy process on an antique bike in Kansas. Not in a hurry to sell. so please no low balls. bike is advertised elsewhere so may be removed at any time if sold. Thanks for looking. hope to find a home for this one.
