THERE IS NO CURRENT TITLE!! Alabama does not issue titles on motorcycles sold/manufactured before 1975 and I will provide the winner with documentation of that fact of life. 1973 was the only year for the G variant of Honda's famed CB350 Super Sport. The CB350G was the final evolution of Honda's extremely successful 325 cc SOHC parallel twin. These models first came to market in 1968. The Honda CB (Super Sport). CL (Scrambler). and later SL (Motosport) variants of the 350 were Hondas most popular models in their day. In 1968. Honda's 350s were the best-selling motorcycle model in the world! With the G model. Honda went from drum to disc front brake and rubber fork gaitors on the CB350 Super Sport. I have owned and worked on quite a few Honda 350 twins over the years. They have been easy to find parts for. work on. and maintain. They are also fun to ride. reliable vintage Japanese bikes. I think the '70s CB models are really great looking bikes. They have a very clean. classic. and well balanced design. Honda 350s are generally considered a good beginner bike. but this particular bike is way too nice to put into the hands of a novice. This is a bike for a vintage Japanese motorcycle enthusiast. That doesn't mean it needs to be pampered or become a "garage queen"; but I'd hate to see a bike this nice dropped or abused by an inexperienced rider. If ridden as intended. these CB350s are still plenty quick. will keep up with modern traffic. and cruise at 70 MPH (about 7. 00 RPMs in fifth) on the freeway. I took this bike on a 25 mile ride Sunday and had it up to 85 MPH on the interstate. I won't tell you it was "relaxed" at that speed. as it was turning about 8. 00 RPM of it's 10. 00 RPM redline! The Honda 350 twins are relatively smooth for a vintage parallel twin. They stop and handle well for their age too. They are known as nearly bullet-proof bikes. Track prepared Honda 350 twins have dominated several classes of AHRMA racing over recent years. Though these Honda 350 twins will pull freeway duty or serve as a daily commuter and not complain about it; I think they are most enjoyable on secondary country roads at speeds of 50 to 60 MPH. That environment feels like their "happy place". This is a great running. great looking. low mileage. Honda CB350G. Other than parts like tires. plugs. batteries. and drive chain that have been replaced; this is as original and stock a Honda 350 twin as you are going to find. This CB350G has about 1. 00 original miles on the clock. When properly maintained. Honda 350s will give excellent service and go for tens of thousands of miles before any major service is required. Of course. tire pressure checks; drive chain lubrication and adjustments; oil changes and filter cleaning; plug changes; cam-chain adjustments; points gap adjustments; ignition timing adjustments; and valve adjustments must be performed more frequently on these old vintage bikes or safety and reliability will suffer. Luckily the CB350s were designed with ease of maintenance in mind and all the aforementioned tasks are relatively easy to accomplish. especially when compared to many of their four-cylinder contemporaries. Many years ago now. nbsp;I brought this bike to Alabama from Indiana for a friend who bought it on eBay. It wasn't running; but it had been stored away from the sun and moisture for many years and only 800 miles on it!! The bike had at least two other owners prior to the friend who I am auctioning it for. It obviously sat unused for most of its life before I brought it down here. sorted it out a bit. and got it running again. That’s about all I know about the bike’s history. When I brought this rare find to Alabama. I went through I pretty thoroughly. The bike has been running and ridding great ever since:-Rebuilt front brake hydraulics -New tires. tubes. and rim strips -New battery -New gas cap seal -Rebuilt the carbs-Rebuilt the petcock -New drive chain -Changed the oil -Complete tune-up (adjusted valves. cam-chain tension. points gap. ignition timing. carbs. and replaced plugs)Because the bike has not been ridden very much or often; there have been a few more batteries installed over the years. I installed another new battery as of last weekend. Also due to the bike's very limited use. nbsp;I had to clean out the front brake caliper and flush and replace the brake fluid recently. I also just replaced the fork seals and turn-signals' flasher relay. Other than when ridden. this very clean 350 has been garaged all its life. Even though it still hasn't been ridden much. it has been well maintained since it came "Down South". This CB is in excellent mechanical condition and. with very little work on its cosmetics. I think it will do very well at vintage shows. It always gets a lot of attention and compliments at Barber Vintage Days shows and wherever it is ridden. The bike has most of its original factory tool kit. I am almost positive the owner has the original owner's manual for the bike too. I'll check to be sure and add a note to the auction on that. Most of the cosmetics are very. very good; paint. bars. seat. tank. side covers. fenders. rims. mufflers. etc. However. there is some evidence that the bike has been ridden and that it is 43 years old. You should be able to see most of this in my posted pictures. I also have higher resolution versions of these posted pictures and plenty more pictures I can e-mail serious bidders. My friend and I have taken his 350 on several uneventful 100 mile rides since I got it sorted out. However. mostly this bike has been enjoyed as it sat in his garage with several other classic bikes and several more modern bikes that were ridden more often and farther. This Iris Purple Honda CB350G has been in several Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club shows at Barber Motorsports Park's Vintage Motorcycle Days. It was ridden on the VJMC's parade laps a couple of years at those Barber vintage events too. Perhaps you have seen this purple beauty there and asked me if it was for sale and. up until now. I have had to tell people it wasn't for sale. Due to injuries sustained in a freak motorcycle wreck. the friend who owns this bike doesn't ride much anymore. Over the years since his accident. I have helped him sell off some very nice newer and vintage bikes. We even sold a couple of very nice bikes to Billy Joel. This collectible CB350G is one of my friend's last two motorcycles. He hates to see this Honda go because it is such a pretty bike; but he hates to see it just sitting too. He does ride this bike around his driveway from time to time and he did take a 50 mile group ride with me and some of his old riding buddies a couple of years back; but that's about it. The Negatives:-Somewhere along the line. this bike's fuel tank was coated inside with Kreem. I have had the tank off and there wss no indication that this bike's tank ever had rust induced fuel leaks. I think the inside of the tank just got rusted up from sitting with too little fuel in it and the owner at the time cleaned out the rust with the chemicals that come with the Kreem kit and then used the Kreem to keep the rust from coming back. So far. the Kreem coating appears to be doing its intended job. -The chrome on the exhaust system's header pipes could use replating. The headers are dull. blued. and rusty in places. However. the mufflers look VERY good and are solid!-There are the usual random rust spots here and there. My pictures should show the worst of these. -The clear-coat on polished aluminum parts has failed in many places. -There are some minor scuffs and scratches here and there that show the bike has been ridden at least a bit in its 40 plus years. That's about it. other than what pictures may show you. This motorcycle is located in Birmingham. Alabama. Please. questions from serious bidders only. The owner is not interested in trades. Send me your personal e-mail via eBay for both more detailed and higher resolution pictures.
