I am helping a friend of mine sell this Indian. He cannot use a computer. This is a 1945 Indian Chief motorcycle. The engine is CDE662. The frame is 345662. Matching numbers. Runs and drives. Owned since 1983. Last driven regularly in 2007. Painted with Black Imron in 1984. Fuel line leaks when turned on. Battery is in poor condition (old, on-original). Electrical system is original 6V. Fenders and chainguard appear to be 1941-42 Chief. The ignition switch has issues. Bike runs when hot-wired. Speedometer maximum hand and trip odometer are present but don't reset properly. Mileage of 28,475 is believed to be original, ut not known with 100% certainty. Tires are old. The front is a 2001 Continental and the rear is a 1998 Avon. Both tires are 5.00 X 16 blackwall. The bike received an A.M.C.A. Junior First in 1984. The motorcycle has a clean transferable New York registration held by the owner. New York does not title vehicles manufactured prior to 1972. A properly transferred registration is accepted by all States of the United States. The motorcycle has no liens on it. The motorcycle's engine was rebuilt by respected engine builder Irv Truax approximately 20 years ago, nd the bike has approximately 10,000 miles on it since then. The motor runs strong and is not noisy. The motor idles well. The clutch and transmission work well.
