Description

1975 Kawasaki H2C 750 Triple.
First, et me start with the engine/frame numbers.
Frame # H2F-47416
Engine # H2E-47729
As you can see, hese are EXTREMELY HIGH serial numbers (within 150 of the final H2 produced). This particular bike was one of the last H2's ever to leave the Kawasaki plant. More than likely, t left the assembly line a few days before the final H2 rolled off. I'm sure that there are a few "higher" numbered bikes out there, ut I have yet to see one with my own eyes.
As for the bikes' overall condition?.... Some would claim "Restored!" or "Mint!" when describing a bike like this...Especially when chucking one up on ebay in order to try and bring top dollar.
Sure, t's been cosmetically freshened up, ut I did not do the work, or would I consider the job that was done "Restoration Quality". In my opinion, his is currently a nice "Rider".
That said, his bike is absolutely worthy of full concourse quality restoration as aside from recent paintwork, s nearly completely as it left the factory. ALL of the difficult-to-find parts are there and ready to bring back to original.
Let's get the "bad" out of the way first.
1. Body Paint, hile decent quality is incorrect "RED", ecal installation (a couple of small wrinkles) and placement (crooked) is poor.
2. Frame has been painted (good quality job, ctually), ut is far too shiny.
3. Upper Front brake hose is incorrect (slightly too long)
4. Tachometer has been replaced (although correct for H2c)
5. Majority of rubber parts (fork boots, teering rubber, ank rubbers, tc) need to be replaced (see close up photos) due to age.
6. Most chrome has light "salt-n-pepper" pitting. (I've tried to capture this in close-up of fork ear)
7. Original Seat cover has tear (covered with electrical tape) on left side, nd smaller "nicks" here and there
8. Front fender has a "touch" (size of nickel) on edge from tip over. (Still good re-chrome candidate)
9. Rear wheel (correct date code) has tire iron marks (Chrome/spokes/nipples still presentable)
10. 3 into 1 rubber intake boot weather cracked when squeezed
11. Headlight ears have "slightest" tweak to them. (Too small to capture in photo and still excellent re-chrome candidates)
12. Headlight bulb not original and missing adjustment screw
13. Slight "ding" in seat trim (typical of upper acorn shock nut)
14. Right and center muffler both have "tip over" rash (see photo). Not terrible, nd are both still excellent candidates for a re-chrome. Pipes still have very nice chrome otherwise and are still presentable.
15. Horn does not work but it's mounted right way up!! (could just need adjustment)
16. Rear sprocket original and worn (front looks to have been replaced)
17. While the majority (90+%) of the fasteners are "correct" and original to the bike, ome of the hardware has been replaced with stainless (tail section bolts, rake pedal stop bolt/nut, tc)
18. Front brake squeeeeeks at low speed.
19. Clutch slips (probably needs new plates/proper 2-stroke tranny oil) under full power.
20. If not restoring, t needs a thorough detailing once again, s I had it at Mid-Ohio Vintage days a couple of weekends ago. For those of you not there, t RAINED for 2 days and turned the campground into a mud-pit...and then dried out and turned it into a dust bowl. I did my best to keep the bike clean, ut there are still remnants of Mid-Ohio on the bike that need to be addressed!!!!
21. Mirrors are aftermarket
22. Rear grabrail is aftermarket (although a good copy from Z1 enterprises)
22. Trip knob present, ut is missing small screw so does not re-set (shaft not broken, ust missing screw)
There are definitely a few more little things, ut the above list gives a decent idea. If you have any additional questions about what is, r is not, orrect... Please ask before bidding! I will do my best to answer.
Now, hat IS good? A LOT!!!!
1. Bodywork.
a. The inside of the gastank is nearly clean enough to drink water from. I tried to take a photo through the filler hole to show this. Only the slightest "haze" of surface corrosion here and there. 99% of it is still original bare steel. NEVER BEEN COATED and DOES NOT NEED TO BE! Outside of tank is straight and in beautiful condition.
b. Tail and sidecovers are BEAUTIFULLY STRAIGHT. BEAUTIFUL "750" Emblems
2. Front Wheel (correct date code) is the NICEST ORIGINAL Kawasaki Triple wheel I have ever seen. It looks like it has been rebuilt, ut it has not. It is how it left the factory.
3. Left muffler is almost PERFECT. Just a "hint" of rash on the end of the pipe (close up photo) from who-knows-what. It looks perfect unless you really look close. Very nice original chrome.
4. Seat pan (and foam) are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.. I would not even bother painting/powdercoating the pan upon installing a new cover which is torn as mentioned above. (Original owners manual still under plastic door as well)
5. Wiring harness, DI Boxes, tator all in very nice cosmetic condition (see pics!)
6. Tires are new, ut are not high quality.
7. The majority of the chromed parts are excellent candidates to be rechromed. There is NO major damage that would force a bunch of replacement parts. At the core, his is a VERY nice H2.
8. Engine...Ahh, he wonderful engine!!!
. It starts easily, dles beautifully (VERY LITTLE ENGINE/PISTON NOISE), hifts wonderfully, ulls strong and goes down the road just as well as any stock H2 I've ridden (and I've ridden/restored/owned many!) According to the previous owner (owned bike for 35+ years), he engine is on standard (71mm) bore and has only had new rings installed (not new pistons), ust because he thought he should do something while he had it apart to inspect. Crank and bottom end is believed to be original. I have not pulled anything apart (nor will I), o am going on what I was told. All I know is that the bike runs VERY VERY WELL....
The only negative is that the clutch slips under hard acceleration, ut I believe that is due to the P.O. using regular 10w/30 oil as the original owners manual specified. We all know that modern engine oil is far too slippery for the wet clutche of a Kaw triple. My thoughts are that the original clutch plates are now saturated with the slippery stuff, nd need to be replaced along with using proper Two Stroke transmission oil (Bel-Ray gearsaver, onda 2-stroke MX oil, tc).
Brakes work well (aside from front pad squeak at low/parking lot speed)
All lights work as they should.
Tool kit is present although original vinyl pouch is missing.
Chain Oiler is present and in good condition (needs new hoses)
So there you have it...... An ultra high production number that is ready for a proper restoration. Or worst case, ou ride it as-is and fix and polish as you go... It is still a beautiful bike, nd gets plenty of thumbs-up and compliments.
I may have forgot to mention this or that, nd to be honest, am tired of typing!! So if you have any additional questions AT ALL...
BE SURE TO ASK BEFORE BIDDING!!!!!!!

**Please Note** I WILL NOT RELEASE this bike to some fly-by-night "Shipper" driving a beat up pickup that was the low bidder on U-Ship. If the buyer wishes to haul this bike in the back of an open bed pickup in a thunderstorm, hen you must come pick it up in person. I have seen many other people valuable vehicles (snowmobiles, otorcycles, ars, tc) damaged by going with the low bidder. Sometimes it pays to pay a little bit more. This bike is worth it.....
