Description

This is a very rare opportunity to own a scarce member of the Abingdon family with the coolest name in motorcycle history!. This is a late teens version of the Abingdon with the King Dick engine bottom end and a belt drive frame. Although there are a "few" parts missing, here are quite a few hard-to-find parts including the rear fender, DK handlebars, heels and special axle fasteners. The fuel tank is almost complete except for the oiler which are available from England. The engine lower end has the flywheels in the cases and there don't appear to be any cracks or broken parts except for a crack in the cable mount on the right side. I'm not sure what the original displacement was. Many of the parts that are missing were common to many small scale British bike manufacturers like Abingdon. These parts include handlebar controls, agneto, ear wheel belt pully and brake, nd lighting. These parts come up for sale frequently on e-Bay UK. In addition, lbion, turmey Archer or Burman transmissions could be specified with your Abingdon as well as a choice of JAP, atchless or King Dick engines. This all makes bringing back a bike like this possible by sourcing the parts needed from England(or Austria!). I restored a '20's Sunbeam starting with less than I'm offering here by collecting parts from England. The club scene in England is very strong with a lot of very dedicated enthusiasts that love to help out with these old Brit bikes. I've only seen one AKD in all of the bike shows I've been to all over the States for the last 25 years. I'm selling this bike reluctantly, ut I have another project biting a huge hole in my wallet. The bike is sold with a Bill Of Sale only and NO TITLE. Ebay doesn't give that option when they ask about the title! Please take a good look at the photos and feel free to give me a call if you have any questions. Shipping is completely the responsibility of the purchaser but I will help out from my end where I can. I can also haul the bike to the Fremont Nebraska AMCA meet in February for a reasonable rate if you pay in full right away. Payment must be made in total within 7 days of the auction close by certified check. I would like the bike picked up within 30 days of the auction close. I will not accept bids from any member with less than 5 feedbacks. Please feel free to call me with any questions. Mike (612)-816-7373
