NSU Supermax 250 OHC Antique Rare 1962

1962 NSU Supermax in unrestored condition. The good: Mostly original parts including some paint; All important sheetmetal present; Engine runs well. no smoke and mechanically fairly quiet; No visible damage to motor. no broken fins etc; Clutch and gears appear to work fine; Gas tank not rusty inside and chrome quite presentable; Nice exhaust system. speedometer works. headlight. parking light. tail light all work. The bad: Actual mileage not known; Tires are old and need replacing; Cables all work but need replacing; Tank has shallow crease in left side chrome (hard to see unless looking for it); Lots of rusty nuts. bolts. incorrect fasteners. rusty spokes etc; Petcock drips; Footrest collars are broken; Gas tank cap is dented; maybe other things I am unaware of. These NSU's engines are wonderful designs with an overhead camshaft driven by eccentrics and conrods. In tuned versions they were very successful in racing. do the research. This would be a fabulous bike restored (or tidy up and ride as is) and parts are readily available from Germany. Bike is sold as is with no guarantee but I have tried to describe accurately.
