This is a 1972 Yamaha DS7. It has been a slow moving project that I simply don't have the time to mess with any more. It was running a few months ago. but had no charging system. I replaced the stator and now it will not start. It turns over. has good compression. I just haven't had time to get it all figured out yet. This would be a GREAT project bike. THE GOOD:I have put more money and parts into this bike than I can list. The paint is new about 2 years ago. House of Kolor Organic Green. Very cool paint. Tank has been professionally lined. not a DiY job. Tires have <20 miles on them. and that's being generous. New switch control. New petcock. New cables. New front brakes shoes. Tail light. brake light. and turn signals work. Lots of little things I'm not thinking about. The seat. gauges. and pipes are all in pretty good shape. The gas tank. oil tank. and side panel look in pretty good shape. I replaced the crank seal and honed the cylinders. I'll even throw in a super handy dial gauge and home made adapter to adjust the timing. THE BAD:I just haven't been able to successfully get it running. I have had it running when it had a bad charging system. I have not had it running since. so cannot vouch for the current charging system. but I'll include the old stator. points. etc. The headlight is burned out. The fork seals will need to be replaced. THE UGLY:It's over 40 years old. The front forks have some rust on them. The rims aren't perfect. although they're solid and absolutely safe. The wiring isn't stuffed inside the headlight housing. so it's pretty ugly. It leaks. Gas and 2-stroke oil. The stator cover is missing in pics. I was working on the timing so hadn't replaced it yet. Air filters are missing in pics. 2 cone air filters are included. I really just want someone to finish this project. I had high hopes for it. it'll be a cool. fun little bike. I'm probably missing something on each of the good. bad. and ugly lists. I'm trying to be straight with you though. it's definitely a project. but it's definitely a doable project. I will not ship the bike. it must be picked up in person. Feel free to set up a viewing if you're in the Phoenix area. I am available every night. Cash or Paypal only!!
