Famous 7M-GTE Turbo Straight Six EngineRare two tone exterior paint. This was literally the FIRST 1987 Turbo Supra sold in California; possibly the first in the country. The original owners purchased this car July of 1986. they carefully watched for the first shipment into the state. The truck brought three of these to the dealership. one was for the owner. one was for his daughter. and the other was for his son-in-law who was a salesman at the dealership. The son-in-law wanted to be the first salesman in the state to sell one of these highly anticipated cars. so he and his wife agreed they would sell hers and she would get hers on the next shipment. The original owners loved and took very good care of this car up until I bought it from them about a year ago. When I purchased the car. it had been sitting for a while due to a blown head gasket. but it still ran. Unfortunately after getting it to my mechanic and he started to pull the engine apart. we found that there was a crack in the head and the cylinder walls were corroded. At that point I decided to just put a whole new engine in car. This car is very rare to find in this good of condition. It is all original. stock wheels. radio. etc. Other than the leather being totally shot. the interior is in good condition for its age. Dash is in very good condition. NO CRACKS. The body is in good condition for its age. there is some paint fade but really not too bad (a good wax job would probably make it a 9 out of 10). and a handful of nicks. dings and scratches here and there (as to be expected with a car that is 28 years old). but there is no major body damage anywhere. The seats need to be reupholstered. leather is very cracked all around. The center console cover will be rewrapped and the ebrake will have a new leather boot on it for the buyer. I can send pics when available. I got a quote from a shop. $2500 to reupholster all four seats front and back in leather. Leatherseats. com makes custom leather reupholstery kits specific for this vehicle starting around $800 for all four seats. and witha a little elbow grease you can put it on yourself. New leather and new shocks/struts and this car will be 90% restored. There is wear and tear on the buttons on the A/C. very common for this car. which if you really want you can have the buttons refurbished to look new. This car has the potential to be a show quality car with just cosmetic work at this point. Overall the car is very solid and sound mechanically. Basically everything that needed to be done mechanically has been done. with the exception of the suspension. which could use new shocks/struts but its still rides well as is. I figured the new owner may want to swap that out with a coil system anyway. All original! Original wheels. stock radio. etc. etc. I even have the owners manual. owners guide. sales brochure (which is particularly rare. even more than the car). and the original window sticker. Basically the only thing that is not still with the car is the tool kit and jack. This is a classic sports car. that is very fun to drive. There's less than 1000 miles on the new engine. Over $8000 in mechanical work alone. I have most of the receipts; of course it passed smog no problem and is currently registered. Lots and lots and lots of pictures.
