Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 Parts or Off-road use only - 1974

The story of this Toyota:In the early 90s a guy in South Carolina owned this Toyota. He had removed the engine and transmission because the engine was weak and he was going to have it re-built. He removed all of the weather seals around the doors and some of the trim and had it painted. At the same time he had the motor disassembled and evaluated what what needed to re-build it. Then he got a divorce. So he packed it all up and moved to Texas. where it has sat in his yard ever since. So. as you will see from the pictures. the Texas sun cooked off the paint from the roof and the hood. And the motor was left apart and is now rusted from being stored in the back of the truck with the back window broke out. During this time he has lost the title. So this is why I am selling this vehicle as a parts or off-road only sale. Body: Body is very solid. Floor boards are solid. The rust you will see is off course on the roof and the hood where the paint was cooked off by the sun. And where the body work wasn't properly sealed you will see bubble through (I've included this in all the pictures). Body is straight and will be very easy to fix. Interior: Front seat cover is shot (see pic). Back seat is there but cracked. will need to be re-covered. The door panels were removed. I re-installed them. they are not in good shape. Pull handles are there in good shape. Ash trays are there with minor surface rust. Window cranks are there but they appear to be stripped. All glass except for back window are good. wind shield is good with no scratch or cracks any where. Window regulators are stuck. Sprayed with WD40 before installed. maybe they will free up after oil works on them. Dash is cracked. Steering wheel in good shape. nbsp;gauges all look good. Headliner falling down. Dome light still in good shape. Missing rear door cover. inner panel. Have some of the parts to electric back window. appears to be missing some parts. Drive line: Has a 4 speed transmission. drive shafts are there and in good shape. Ran the transmission through 4 gears. shifts easy and no apparent noises coming from transmission. Bench tested only! Clutches - he had a new one but it is rusted. it may clean up. All other parts accounted for: bell housing. fork. covers etc. As you see from the pictures. motor is apart and rusted. In my evaluation this motor could be saved. have seen worse saved by the right machine shop. Block will need re-bored. cam cleaned up. crank shaft is questionable. it has been lying on its side all this time which is not the proper way to store it. So it may or may not have survived. If it hasn't worked it will need to be turned. Head was stored valve springs up. looks like the seats will be ok but will definitely need new valve springs and retainers. The rest of the stuff looks in decent shape. And all appears to be there. Miscellaneous: It has a welded on brush guard to the front bumper (see pic). It has a spare that matches the other white spoke rims. I have the Toyota repair manual Chassis and body. the F engine repair manual. the supplement to the engine for 1974 repair. and a Haynes Land Cruiser owners workshop manual. I can provide you with a bill of sale. nbsp;notarized if needed. Here in Texas. to get a bonded title is approximately $400. 00 for the whole process. Some states may vary concerning older vehicles and titles. Will assist in loading but transportation is buyers responsibility.
