Worth Motorcycle Company (worthmotorcycles.org) is a nonprofit organization that teaches at-risk youth the art of vintage motorcycle restoration. We specialize in re-imagining and rebuilding 70s-80s era BMW airheads. The pictures featured in this listing are of motorcycles we've built, r are in the process of building. Worth does not sell bikes, e sell builds. In other words, he bikes we build are built to order. Each and every element of these bikes is discussed and agreed upon before going into production. From aesthetics to performance, he buyer is made aware of his/her options along with what the estimated cost of these options are via a comprehensive build sheet.
We draw inspiration from and follow the lead of the best (i.e., itmo Sereno, ax Boxer, YC Norton, nd the now closed Radical Ducati). While there's still so much to learn, here are only a few other shops in the world doing the type of performance and aesthetic mods being offered by Worth. This is why our bikes have been sold at Art Basel and on exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Industrial Color. They've also been featured in Glamour and in both design (Design Boom) and bike blogs (Silodrome).
There isn't, owever, nother shop in the world, perating as a not-for-profit training ground for at-risk youth.
This is how it works:
1. Be the highest bidder in the auction, r simply email me directly. Please note that the final cost of the bike is not necessarily based on the highest bid. The final cost of the bike is determined by the aesthetic and performance mods negotiated and agreed upon by the buyer and Worth.
2. Buyer and builder discuss and agree upon design and performance mods.
3. Pay 75% deposit of total. The remaining 25% will be due upon delivery. We are set up to receive securities (stocks) as payment through our broker at Merill Lynch. Because Worth is a 501(c)(3), lease discuss the specific tax benefits of doing so with our broker or your CPA. Other accepted forms of payment include direct wire transfer, ayPal, nd Dwolla.
4. Builds started before the end of 2015 will be delivered end of spring, eginning of summer, 016.
5. Worth covers cost of shipping. Additionally, member of the Worth team will meet buyer at delivery location to do complete walk-thru and final inspection.
