Description

One of my prized possessions must be sold to enable a new undertaking. Although I’ve done minor maintenance work on this matching numbers R50, he bike was completely restored by one of the top BMW motorcycle restoration authorities in the US, arrington Motor Works owned and operated by Chris and Barbara Betjemann in Barrington New Hampshire.

About 495 miles ago, hris disassembled this R50/2 and completed a precision major engine overhaul together with related components as well as a powder coat of the frame. The bike retains its original sheet metal after 47 years of service. (Fenders do have some scratches and smudges) Original is best as it speaks to the care given to the machine thru out its lifetime and maintains its original natural beauty without the aid of make up. What you see is truly is. The restoration was done several years ago and has only 495 miles put on with the last two owners. The Odometer shows 38,355. I added the mirrors and the OEM Hella turn signals.

I have all of the correspondence from Chris during the R50’s restoration as well as a multitude of pictures taken through out the process. For an idea of how Chris and Barbara work visit their website WWW.barringtonmotorworks.com

My R50/2 is not perfect but it is close. Enough so that for a particularly fussy person like myself it was love at first sight. The attacked pictures are high resolution so I encourage you to enlarge them and look closely at, n my opinion, ne of the nicest Original R50’s in the country. My feedback will attest to my honesty as an Ebayer and the Betjemann reputation stands alone as one of the most knowledgeable and most professional BMW restorers in business today.

Now for all of the disclaimers. I will be happy to work with the winning bidder to assist in the shipping process, ut the cost of shipping will be entirely the responsibility of the new owner. The bike is being sold in an “AS-IS” condition which is typical of sales such as these even though I know of no faults that exist. I’ll require a deposit of $500.00 payable within 72 hours of the auction’s end either by cash or bank check. The balance will be due no later than seven days from auction’s end, gain either by cash or bank check. I have no problem storing the bike until the new buyer can make the arrangements to pick it up. The black & white pictures are from the original restoration, he color pictures are from this month.
