On offer here is a vintage 1966 BSA Hornet MX. The engine has been completely rebuilt, ith .020 overbore, ll new valves, uides and springs, tandard rods (polished), ight main bearing .020 under and the motor balanced. The ignition is Tympanium capacitor 12V and works well. The transmission has all new bearings, ushings and seals. The rolling chassis has been largely reconditioned, ith new fork seals, heel bearings and drive chain. The bike is presently fitted with Ceriani forks and a 21" front wheel. I do have the original forks, ront wheel, mal monoblocs, lutch case and 5-wire stator and coils for those who wish to restore the bike to original. As it sits, he bike is about 80% original but could be made about 98% original with these pieces. All it is missing are the original fenders to make it 100% original. The Amal Concentric carburetors installed work well. The bike usually starts on the first kick and sounds like an original. I haven't been able to locate the original Hornet clutch springs (1.590" X 8 colls) and have had to use slightly longer springs with a reduced rate, hich results in some slippage. With the correct springs, he clutch should work fine. The engine is fresh and runs strong and has only run a few miles since the rebuild for tuning purposes. The bike is ideal for restoration to original, HRMA racing or general off-road riding. I have had the bike inspected and a new title paid for which should arrive in the mail shortly. I do ship internationally and always work with the buyer to find the most economical and expeditious method of transport. A video of the bike cold starting and running is available on request. A reasonable reserve has been set for this rare and highly collectable BSA. If you have any questions, all Craig at (541) 679-6064 evenings 5:00-10:00 PM PDST.
