1968 Norton Commando

1968 Commando. First year for the Commando model. Rare bike. Really nice restoration. with matching numbers (frame. motor. transmission). Starts & runs excellent. Here’s a list of items done: • Frame sandblasted and enamelled black. Smaller black parts powdercoated. • Professionally painted. deep “candy” green with multi-clear coat (nice. deep finish) • Motor and transmission fully rebuilt with all bearings and bushings replaced. o Cylinders honed. standard pistons and new rings o Two exhaust valves. inlet valves lapped all valve guides and guides replaced. o All gaskets and seals replaced o New primary and final drive chains • New front and rear drive sprockets • New rubber cushions in rear hub • Custom valve covers added • New Amal 930 carbs • Both instruments (speedo & tach) fully rebuilt to original specs • New tachometer drive • New Norton mirrors • Branson-Boyer electronic ignition • New ignition switch • H4 headlight with Eastern Beaver fused relay and direct power from battery • LED taillight-brakelight • Front fender. front footrests and kick starter re-chromed (a few other items too) • New. original style Dunlop tires • New seat cover • New handlebars and controls • Re-chromed rims. new spokes • New front and rear brake shoes • Original mufflers and exhaust pipes (not perfect but quite presentable) Bike is located in New Brunswick.
