I am selling my 1980 Yamaha cafe racer. The frame was completely customized to accept a 2003 Yamaha R6 suspension and geometry. The Rake and Trail is 24 Degree and 86mm. Rear swing arm was extended 3" to match the 2003 R6 Wheel Base. It has 17" wheels so you can run good Racing Compound tires. This is very rare among the XS650 Racers. The rims areexcelAluminum and the front hub us a stock XS650 and the rear is a WR450. I am 6'0, he designer of the bike was 6'2, nd it handles like a race bike. The builder of the bike was a Nuclear Engineer and ex-motorcycle racer. I am the second owner. The bike was registered in GA, ut there is no title and comes with a bill of sale. Depending on your state, hey may have laws that could require you to add turn signals. There is no ignition system and has a hidden toggle switch for power and aseparateswitch for lights. There is no battery, t uses a capacitor for power. Everything about this bike was built for speed so all weight was cut out of the bike. Note, s the stock steering head where the VIN number sits was cut off to accept the new R6 steering neck. The old steering head comes with the sale of the bike to prove its identity, ut this was the only way to create a modern racing andperformance stance of what you see now. This bikes gets compliments at least 10 times everything I bring it out.The engine was customized and re-phased by Hughes Handbuilt in Asheville, orth Carolina. If you don't know what re-phasing is, r the benefits visit this site or Hughes website to learn more about Hughes on the Internet. But basically, hese engines stock had both pistons go up and down at the same time, nd re-phasing is where the cam and the crank are cut and offset thus increasing efficient, nertia, nd torque. No other XS sounds like this bike, r preforms like it either. There is a small bubble imperfection in the paint on the tank right side.
The brakes have also been upgraded to the Yamaha R6 rotors. It also has a custom exhaust system that exits centrally from the rear.
The bike has been worked on and flawlessly tuned by Chris "Hippie" at RSS, r Racing Sport Services across from Road Atlanta.

Update - I noticed a small bubble in the paint on the right side of the tank. But bike is sold as is at the price listed. There is over $5,000 invested in this bike.
This is a LOW RESERVE AUCTION!
